My father is Peter Dexter Cadwell, his father is William Dexter Cadwell (born 1896), his father is William Harry Cadwell, his father is William Diah (?sp) Cadwell who died in VT 10/10/1902. I am a descendant of Thomas Cadwell, Hartford, Conn. c. 1630. My sister and I have done considerable research but we still have a few holes. My lineage (as far as I am able to determine) is Walter Cadwell (b. 1604, north Scotland), Thomas Cadwell, Edward Cadwell, Edward Cadwell, Jr., Nehemiah Cadwell, Ashbel Cadwell, Phineas Cadwell, Ebenezer Smith Cadwell, Phineas Cadwell, William Carson Cadwell, Guy Grove Cadwell, and Myron Guy Cadwell.
This line migrated from the Connecticut area to NY, MN, IA then finally to Kansas about 1900.

I'd be happy to share whatever information I have and would be grateful for any help, particularly during Thomas Cadwell's period.

My Mom Faith B (Sheen) Campbell, who was born 5/23/1906 died 1/7/2003, told stories of her Aunt Julia Cadwell & had vivid memories of sitting on Julia's lap as a toddler. Believe Julia was a spinster, but was first cousin to Abraham Lincon. By the Government's request she met the Death Train to represent the family when it came to San Francisco. Julia resided in Santa Barbara County, California. I am putting together a Scrap book Geneology project, have been unable to obtain a picture Of Julia. If anyone has one, could you please contact me?

I am 19 years old, and I was just wondering about the History of my Dad's side of my family; since I already know my Mom's side. So I want to know the Armstrong History, but I also want to know weather I am Scottish,Irish,or English? I was wondering if someone could help me who may be a geneologist or something and if they can do it for free. Now I will give you a brief history of my family that I know so far (which is very little). My Dad's mom's maiden name is Blake (I dont know if this even matters). Also I recently went searching on the net for my coat of arms which is blue and white vertical stripes. I also found the Scottish earliest Armstrong is Adam in 1274. The earliest Irish Armstrong dates back to 1603. Lastly, the earliest English Armstrong is Gregory in 1250. Also my Dad is from Arizona and my Grandparents are from north east somewhere I forget where though. This is all I know and I would REALLY appreciate it if I could know more. Thank you ahead of time to whoever can give me information on my heritage. Thanks again!!

I can trace myself all the way back to Thomas Cadwell and Elizabeth Stebbins. But there is a mystery that I can't solve. I have Austin Cadwell and Anna Holcomb having a son Edmond Faye Cadwell married to Jane Ferguson who had a son Alexander Edson Cadwell my gggrandfather. All the documentation I find besides our DAR is that Austin Edson Cadwell married Jane Ferguson. Could she have been married to both brothers?

My interest in the Cadwells is somewhat complicated and is a real puzzle. My gggrandmother was Sarah T Campbell. She was born 5 July 1825 in Canada. Her parents died when she was about a year old and she was sent to be raised by relatives in New York. I don't know where in Canada she was born or who the New York relatives were. I do know that she married Ora B. Wells of Genessee, NY in the 1840s and moved to Wisconsin and then South Dakota. In the 1850 census for Fairfield Twp, Dodge County, Wis. Ora is listed as a farmer but owned no land. The landowner above the Wells family is Roderick Cadwell, 53, with wife Laura and 4 children under 21. I am wondering if Roderick could be the relative who raised Sarah. The reasons I feel this may be so are: 1. Ora and Sarah's first son was named Roderick C. Wells and there are no known Rodericks in Ora's line. 2. Roderick lived (1830 and 1840) in York twp, Livingston, NY which shares a border with Genessee, NY. 3. There is a girl living with Roderick in York, Livingston, NY in 1830 and 1840 who could be Sarah if the 1830 census was taken before Sarah turned 6 and the 1840 census was taken after she turned 16.
Please help. Any clue would be appreciated. Anything on Roderick's children, any Campbell connection through the Cadwells or wife, Laura Dickinson. Anything at all.

Looking for information on the children of Levi Cadwell, son of Daniel Cadwell
and Mary Warriner. I have been able to find only four, and on the 1790 census
he still had seven living at home(one son over 10, 2 under, and 4 daughters).
A Samuel Cadwell from E. Windsor married Love Parsons from W. Springfield in
1805.The only Cadwell living in E. Windor,CT was Levi. One of the witnesses
to the marriage was Sibil Cadwell Dewey, Levi's first cousin. This Samuel also
had a son named Levi, so I am pretty sure he is Levi and Hannah's son. I am
descended thru this line.

Update to my August 16 posting. Would appreciate additional information on any of these individuals: Loyal Cadwell (1829-1881), married to Mary A (1838-1903), both buried in Eaton, Madison, NY. Loyal in 176 Reg NY Vols. Two sons, both buried in Eaton: George H Cadwell (1854-1922), married to Alice (1854-1916), had children but no information; and Morris Cadwell (1857-1919). Morris first married Mary Jane Partridge (1857-1899) with two daughters, Mildred (1887-1971) and Lillian (1896-1994). Second wife Julia Demares (or variant spelling; 1872-1920) with son John William Cadwell (1904-1983, through whom my wife is descended). All known history in Madison Co (Eaton / Randallsville) but mentions of Rochester, Oswego NY with unknown relevance. Census index shows a Levi Cadwell in Eaton in 1820 and 1830, possibly Loyal's father, but no information. Unable so far to tie my Cadwell line to any others; help appreciated! RVLevine@AOL.com

I am still looking for George Cadwell but have some new information which might help. From my grandmothe's diary - George and Nora Cadwell came for a visit to Waterloo, Ia on Sept 14, 1902 then on Nov 12, 1902 left for Kansas. Also Francis and Linda Cadwell were married in Waterloo by Rev. E. F. Jones on June 30, 1915. My grandmothers name was Kittie C Smith. She also talks about a Uncle Charlie Cadwell on Jan 19, 1901. I think Charlie's wife name might have been Caroline.

My father Phineas Mott Cadwell came from and is buried in Harrison Co. Iowa.
He had children by two different wives. His first wife was Margaret and his second wife was Aurelia. His father was William Carson Cadwell. This side of the family came from the NY Conn area, then to Wi and then to Ia. Edward Cadwell, a cousin of mine, has access to the diary that one of the Cadwell's kept on their trek from NY to Wisc. Also some lineage is included in this diary.

I'm seeking the ancestry of Sophia Cadwell. According to the Kellogg genealogy she was born around 1798. Census records imply 1791 - 1794. She was married to Samuel Rust Vorra (Vorrey) of Coventry CT, died 30NOV1849 in Hartford CT, and is buried in the old North Cem. there. Two of her children (surname Vorra) were named Adaline (1818) and Angeline (1820), the same as a pair of Cadwell twins born 15JUL1818 that I believe were from Wilbraham.

My elusive Cadwell is my gg grandfather HIRAM b. January 10, 1800 d. 1867 and buried in Palatine, IL (near Chicago). According to a son's death record, Hiram was from CT and had a wife named SARAH ANN. Census records say he was a farmer from New York, born "at sea" or from Scotland. He also lived in Michigan from about 1828 - 1841, Illinois in the 1850 census and Minnesota in the 1860 census. Obviously, he was on the move right from birth! Where is this man really from???

My great grandfather's name was Austin Blachford Cadwell who died in perhaps 1964 at age 103 -- he was supposedly born in Connecticut or upstate New York. With the lineage of many Austin Cadwells, I'm wondering if you have any information on this particular Austin Cadwell. His wife's name was Susan Klein (born in the country of Luxembourg), his children were Leon Lawrence Cadwell (my grandfather) and Susan Cadwell (died in the early 1900's of apendicitis).
