The Senator and Me
I'm sure that you've heard of Senator Stephen Conroy, the Australian Minister for Broadband, Communications, and the Digital Economy? Certainly you've read about his "thundering" speech at the FTTHCAP conference.
Perhaps you were curious as to where he went after the speech?
Why to the Hitachi booth to have a lengthy and intimate conversation with yours truly, of course.
There is little more thrilling to an Australian politician that being forced to listen to an American technology wonk, as can be seen by the expression on the Senator's face.
(In all seriousness, Senator Conroy was polite and gracious throughout and does not deserve to be mocked in any way for his magnanimous donation of time.)
