SEPTEMBER 1921

Thu. Sep. 1st. Bright in morn and rained around some in eve but none here. Lewis and Willie and Marion worked on the new rooms today. Wiley hauled some brick and lime from town today. I hoed turnips on W side of garden in morn.

Fri. 2nd. Bright in morn and cloudy in eve but only sprinkled a little. Lewis and Willie and Marion worked on the 2 new rooms today. Wiley and Dud and hands picked cotton and hauled it late in eve. I picked grass out of strawberries in morn and picked some pepper in eve.

Sat. 3rd. Bright and warm and no rain. Lewis and Willie and Marion worked on the 2 new rooms in morn and Willie and Marion drove Snap to town in eve. I picked grass out of strawberries in morn.

Sun. 4th. Bright in morn and we had a little shower at 5 in eve. Bro Tom and his 2 little girls here today and he left them here in eve to stay a day or two. Marion and Annie went to church in town at night and Joe Boatner here at night.

Mon. 5th. Bright and very warm in morn and we had a little shower in eve. Lewis and Willie and Marion worked on the new rooms today. I hoed turnips in garden in morn.

Tue. 6th. Bright in morn and cloudy in eve but no rain. Lewis and Willie and Marion worked on the 2 new rooms today. I hoed turnips in garden in morn.

Wed. 7th. Cloudy all day and we had a good little rain from SE in eve. Lewis and Willie and Marion worked on the 2 new rooms today and Marion drove Buck to town in night and took Carmel to go on to Mississippi City to teach school.

Thu. 8th. Cloudy all day but no rain. Lewis and Willie and Marion worked on the 2 new rooms today. I picked up a few pecans in eve (the first).

Fri. 9th. Bright and warm and no rain. Lewis and Willie and Marion worked on the 2 new rooms today. I picked up some pecans in morn and in eve too.

Sat. 10th. Bright and very warm and no rain. Willie drove Snap to town in morn and Wiley and Dud drove wagon to mill. Lewis and Marion worked on the new rooms in morn and finished them. I picked up pecans in morn.

Sun. 11th. Bright and very warm in morn and we had a little shower from NE at 3 in eve. Gordon here awhile in eve.

Mon. 12th. Bright and very warm in morn and we had 2 showers from E in eve - a good rain in all. Willie and Marion worked on new rooms most of day. Miss Eva Boatner and Bro Tom's little girls came in morn and began school. I picked up some pecans in morn.

Tue. 13th. Bright and very warm today. Rained around a little in eve but none here today. Willie and Wiley and Dud worked the field roads in morn and Willie white washed on the new rooms in eve and Nellie and Marion drove Snap to town in eve. I picked up some pecans today.

Wed. 14th. Bright and very warm most of day and rained around some in eve but none here. Willie and Marion painted and white washed on new rooms today. I picked up pecans in morn and picked some pepper in garden in eve and cut up some stove wood.

Thu. 15th. Bright and very warm till 3 1/2 in eve and we had a good shower here at 4 to 5 1/2. Willie and Marion put up a new flue to kitchen today. I picked up pecans and cut okra seed in morn.

Fri. 16th. Bright and very warm all day and no rain in sight. Willie and Minnie drove Snap to town in morn and returned at 2 in eve. I picked up pecans in morn and eve too. Willie and Marion tried to drive a big barrow home from over the creek in eve but couldn't do it.

Sat. 17th. Bright and very warm and no rain in sight. Willie and Marion got the big barrow home from over the creek early in morn and they drove Buck to town in eve. I picked up pecans today.

Sun. 18th. Bright and warm and no rain in sight. All but Nellie and me went to SS in eve and Bro Dawson preached there. Mr. D Boatner and wife came in eve and brought Miss Eva.

Mon. 19th. A rain cloud came up from S at 9 1/2 in morn and we had a big rain till 12 without thunder or wind and bright in eve. Cap D brought Annie and Hattie and all went to school before rain and Cap stayed here till after dinner. I picked up pecans in morn and in eve too. Nellie and Minnie drove Snap to Lanehart's to Nora's wedding late in eve.

Tue. 20th. Bright and warm and no rain. Marion rode Snap to town in morn. I picked up pecans in morn and in eve too.

Wed. 21st. Bright and very warm and no rain. Willie and Marion rebuilt steps to front gallery and to back side of house today. I picked up pecans in morn and in eve too.

Thu. 22nd. Bright and very warm and no rain. I picked up pecans today.

Fri. 23rd. Bright and very warm and no rain. Wiley drove wagon to town and carried a bale of cotton to gin and Willie drove Snap and they returned after night and brought Sims in buggy with them. I picked up pecans in morn and eve too.

Sat. 24th. Bright and very warm till 2 in eve and we had a big rain from E with some thunder and wind and a little hail at 3 to 4 1/2 in eve. Marion and Carl and I brought some canes from field in morn and we picked up some pecans late in eve blown down by the wind.

Sun. 25th. Bright and warm and no rain. Gordon dined here today. Luster James brought Miss Eva Boatner in a car after night.

Mon. 26th. Bright and warm in morn and cloudy all eve and sprinkled rain a little. Willie and Marion hunted hogs most of day. I threshed and picked up 1/2 bu of pecans today.

Tue. 27th. Bright and warm most of day and no rain. Wiley and Dud pulled and hauled a load of corn from patch E of here today. I gathered 1/2 bu of pecans today.

Wed. 28th. Bright in morn and cloudy in eve but no rain. Wiley carried a load of cotton to gin in morn and Willie rode Snap to gin and they returned at 3 in eve. Marion and I gathered 1/2 bu of pecans in morn and I picked up some in eve.

Thu. 29th. Bright till 12 and we had a shower from S then and cloudy some all eve. Willie and Marion threshed pecans in morn and in eve too and I picked up and we got a bbl today in all.

Fri. 30th. Cloudy and we had a rain from N at 11 to 12 and cool and cloudy in eve from N. Willie and Marion and I gathered pecans most of day off big tree by hen shed.
