OCTOBER 1921

Sat. Oct. 1st. Cloudy some all day but no rain. Willie and Marion drove Snap to town early in morn and returned in eve. I picked up pecans most of day and picked up 1/2 bu in all.

Sun. 2nd. It rained in little showers today and some at night from NW and a little cool too. Miss Emma brought Miss Eva in eve to teach.

Mon. 3rd. A thunder cloud came up from NW at daylight and we had a hard shower and turned cool and cool and cloudy some all day. Willie and Marion and Wiley and Dud found hogs and got them into pasture in morn and Willie and Marion threshed pecans in eve. I picked up 1/2 bu today.

Tue. 4th. Clear and cool from N. We gathered pecans most of day. Wiley got Lanehart's mower early in morn and mowed hay most of morn and broke a rod in machine and Marion rode Snap to town at 11 to 2 1/2 in eve and got another rod and Wiley mowed again late in eve.

Wed. 5th. Clear and cool from N. Wiley finished mowing pea hay in --- and raked it in eve. Willie an Dud and Joe pulled corn today. Marion and I gathered over 2 bus pecans today.

Thu. 6th. Clear and cool from N. Willie and Wiley and Dud hauled in corn and some of pea hay today. Marion and I gathered over 2 bus of pecans today.

Fri. 7th. Bright, nearly clear, and cool and wind blew from NE most of night and chilly too. Willie and Wiley hauled in corn and last of pea hay today. Marion and I gathered pecans today.

Sat. 8th. Clear and a chilly wind from N of E all day. Willie and Charles and Carl drove Snap and Wiley and Dud drove wagon to town and carried 5 bbls of pecans and sold them at 12 1/2 and 15 cts. and all returned late in eve. I picked up 1/2 bu of pecans today.

Sun. 9th. Clear and very cool early in morn. All home all day. Mr. Boatner and wife brought Miss Eva in eve. Marion and Miss Eva drove Snap to preaching in town at night.

Mon. 10th. Bright, nearly clear, and cool. Willie and Wiley and Dud and Joe pulled and hauled in corn today and women picked peas in patch E of here today and Marion and I gathered pecans.

Tue. 11th. Bright, nearly clear, and cool and wind blew from N all night. Willie and Wiley and Dud and Joe hauled in corn and women picked peas today. Marion and I gathered pecans today.

Wed. 12th. Clear and a very cool or cold wind from NE all day. Willie and Wiley and Dud and Joe pulled and hauled in corn today and women picked peas. Marion drove Snap to town in morn and got some stove pipe for schoolhouse and put it up in eve. I gathered 3 p'ks of pecans today.

Thu. 13th. Bright, nearly clear, and very cool early in morn but wind from E and warmer in eve. Willie and Wiley and Dud and Joe pulled and hauled in corn today and women picked peas. Marion and I gathered pecans.

Fri. 14th. Bright and cool and getting dry. Willie and Wiley and Dud and Joe pulled and hauled in corn and women picked peas. Marion and I gathered pecans.

Sat. 15th. Bright and cool and dry. Willie and Marion drove Snap and Wiley and Dud went on wagon and carried 8 hogs and corn to mill in morn and all returned late in eve. I picked up pecans in morn and felt sick all eve.

Sun. 16th. Bright and warmer and dry. All went to SS in eve and Bro Dawson preached there - all but Nellie and me.

Mon. 17th. Cloudy and some warmer today. Willie and Wiley and Dud and Joe pulled and hauled in corn and Marion and I gathered pecans today.

Tue. 18th. Bright, nearly clear, and cool from NW. Willie drove Snap to town in morn and Wiley and Dud and Joe pulled and hauled in corn and Marion helped them in morn. I picked up pecans today.

Wed. 19th. Bright and cool and dry. Willie and Wiley and Dud and Joe pulled and hauled in corn in morn and finished last of it and Wiley and Dud and Joe picked peas with the women in eve. Willie and Marion and I gathered pecans in eve.

Thu. 20th. Bright and a very cool wind from N all day and very cool at night. Wiley and Dud and Joe and women picked peas in Coon field today. Willie and Marion and I gathered pecans today. I am suffering with a cold.

Fri. 21st. Clear and cool and dry. Willie and Marion and I gathered pecans today. Wiley and Dud and Joe and women picked peas in Coon field.

Sat. 22nd. Bright and cool and dry. Willie and Marion drove Snap to town and Wiley and Dud drove wagon and carried 4 bbls of pecans and sold them at 14 cts. per pound. I picked up pecans in morn.

Sun. 23rd. Bright and cool and dry. Dr. Catchings came out to see me in morn and found my heart wrong.
