JUNE 1920

Tue. June 1st. Bright and warm in morn and rained around some in thunder showers most of eve but only sprinkled a little here late in eve. Dud and Wiley ran cultivators in cotton in Coon field today. Willie ran cultivator in late corn in big hollow in field in morn and in cotton in Coon field in eve with Buck. I set out and watered and hoed tomatoes on ditch in field in morn and picked some dry peas in eve.

Wed. 2nd. Bright in morn and rained a pretty good shower here in eve and slowly some in night. Willie and Dud and Wiley molded late corn in big hollow in field in morn and plowed in Coon field in eve. I set out gaps in tomatoe patch in field and hoed them in morn and picked some dry peas in garden in eve.

Thu. 3rd. Bright in morn and rained a good little shower in eve and another one late in night but not enough all together to wet ground yet. Willie and Dud and Wiley plowing corn in Coon field today. I planted late beans and replanted pimento in new garden in morn and grabbled some Irish potatoes in old garden and picked some dry peas in new garden in eve.

Fri. 4th. Bright and warm in morn and clouded up at 4 in eve and we had a big rain at 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 in eve and slowly on till dark with some thunder. Willie hoed potatoes in field in morn and Dud and Wiley plowed in Coon field till rain in eve and got wet. I hoed around 3 pear trees and 10 fig trees out E of here in morn and was sick and took a pill at 10 in morn.

Sat. 5th. Cloudy and a little cool from N and no rain. Willie and Marion and Dud and Wiley set out some yams early in morn. Willie and Carmel drove Buck to town and Dud and Wiley went to town on wagon. I hoed around some pear trees out E of here in morn.

Sun. 6th. Bright, nearly clear, and a little cool from NE. Earl here in morn awhile. Marion rode Sandy to church in town at night.

Mon. 7th. Bright and a cool breeze from NE. Willie molded cotton in patches E and N of here today. Dud and Wiley plowed in Coon field today. I dug around arbor of late beans and hoed some in new garden in morn.

Tue. 8th. Bright and cool in morn but warm in eve and rained around some in eve in thunder showers but only sprinkled a little here. Willie molded late corn in Coon field today and Dud and Wiley plowed cotton today. I hoed in new garden in morn and picked some dry peas there in eve.

Wed. 9th. Bright and warm in morn and a thunder cloud came up from SE at 4 1/2 in eve and we had a big rain. Dud and Wiley plowed cotton till the rain in eve. Willie plowed corn in Coon field till rain in eve and got wet. Marion drove Sandy to Wiley's on last Tue. and carried Carmel to go with Bernice to Clinton Normal and he returned this morn. I hoed tomatoe patch on ditch in field in morn and picked some dry peas in new garden in eve and grabbled some potatoes in old garden too.

Thu. 10th. Bright and warm and no rain in sight. Too wet to plow today. I cut weeds in hollow out E of here around 2 big apple trees in morn. Marion rode Sandy to ball game in town in eve and little Wiley came back with him at dark.

Fri. 11th. Bright and warm and no rain in sight. Willie plowed corn on creek today and Wiley and Dud plowed cotton. I hoed tomatoe patch in field in morn and picked some dry peas in eve in new garden.

Sat. 12th. Bright, nearly clear, and very warm and no rain in sight. Willie and Dud and Wiley molded corn in Coon field all day. Marion and little Wiley drove Sandy to town in morn. I hoed in new garden in morn.

Sun. 13th. Bright and very warm in morn and rained out SE of here in thunder showers some in eve and we had a good little shower in night. B C and Dixie and their 2 little boys spent day here.

Mon. 14th. Bright and very warm till 2 in eve and a thunder cloud came up from SE then with a good deal of thunder but only rained a little shower here. Minnie and Marion started to town in eve but clouds scared them back. Willie molded corn in Coon field today. Wiley and Dud molded cotton today. I hoed in new garden in morn.

Tue. 15th. Clear in morn and a thunder cloud out SE of here in eve but no rain here. Dud and Wiley molded cotton in morn and molded late corn with Willie in Coon field in eve. I hoed some in new garden and hoed around hills of tomatoes in ditch in field in morn.

Wed. 16th. Bright and very warm and no rain in sight today. Willie and Dud and Wiley molded late corn on creek today. Gus Dawson here today. I took down sticks where peas grew in garden and hoed part of ground in morn and shelled some dry peas in eve and grabbled some Irish potatoes in old garden in eve.

Thu. 17th. Bright and very warm and no rain in sight. Dud and Wiley layed by corn most of day and finished last of it. I hoed some in new garden in morn.

Fri. 18th. Cloudy some and rained in little showers some in morn -but not enough to wet ground - and bright in eve. Wiley and Dud plowed Willie's cotton in patches N and E of here and sugar cane in field and finished all by late in eve. Willie plowed in potatoes in field today. I was sick and lay down some today.

Sat. 19th. Cloudy in morn and we had a good rain at 12 (midday) and needed too and cloudy some all eve. They dipped cattle early in morn and Willie drove Sandy to town in eve. I replanted late beans and pimento in new garden in morn.

Sun. 20th. Bright and cool from N and no rain. All went to SS in eve but Nellie and me and Bro Dawson preached there. Little Wiley came at 12 today and he and Marion drove Sandy to town to preaching at night.

Mon. 21st. Bright and cool in morn and warm in eve. Willie hoed potatoes in field today. Dud and Wiley plowed cotton in Coon field today. Wiley and little Wiley and I dug Irish potatoes in old garden in morn.

Tue. 22nd. Bright and cool in morn and warm in eve and no rain in sight. Dud and Wiley plowed cotton today. Willie hoed in potatoes in morn and cut burrs in corn in Coon field in eve. Marion and little Wiley and I dug Irish potatoes in old garden in morn and finished them.

Wed. 23rd. A thunder cloud passed around SW from NW at 9 in morn and sprinkled a little here and sprinkled some in eve. Willie drove Sandy and Buck and carried Nellie and Charles to Wiley's in morn and returned at sunset. Dud and Wiley plowed cotton today. I hoed tomatoe patch on ditch in field by 9 in morn.

Thu. 24th. Bright and very warm in morn and sprinkled rain some in eve and rained a hard little shower at 10 in night. Willie worked in potatoes in field in morn. I hoed tomatoe patch in field in morn.

Fri. 25th. Bright and very warm till late in eve and a thunder cloud came up from E and we had a big rain with some little hail and wind and thunder at 6 in eve and quit before night. Willie worked in potatoes today. Wiley and Dud finished plowing over cotton today. I hoed in new garden in morn. Marion and little Wiley drove Sandy to Bro Tom's in morn and returned just before rain and Wiley went home just after rain.

Sat. 26th. Bright and very warm till 5 in eve and a thunder cloud came up from E and we had a hard shower till 6 and quit. Willie and Marion and Dud and Wiley set out potatoes in field till 10 in morn and finished and all of them and Carl too went to town and returned after rain.

Sun. 27th. Bright and warm till 4 1/2 in eve and a thunder cloud blew up from SE and we had a hard shower till 6 1/2. Cousin Mary sent for Minnie at 1 in eve - Edna is sick - and Minnie stayed there all night. Gordon here in eve and stayed all night on account of rain.

Mon. 28th. Bright and warm and no rain today. Willie and Marion tore down old cotton house and moved it to wood pile today. I gathered cucumbers and okra in new garden for Minnie in morn. She came home from Lewis' early in morn. Gordon left early in morn.

Tue. 29th. Bright and warm and no rain in sight today. Willie and Marion moved privy and put in hollow in back of new garden in morn. I hoed around hills of tomatoes on ditch in field and hoed my nest egg squashes in field in morn.

Wed. 30th. Bright and very warm and no rain in sight. Willie and Marion hoed in cotton in patch E of here in morn and Dud rode Joe colt first time in eve. I hoed in new garden in morn.
